Project Plan Health Check

PRINCE2 has different levels of planning.

The overall planning is covered in the Project Plan, which describes in what steps the project is divided, and which products each stage must deliver.

For every stage in the project there can be a Stage Plan, in which the planning of that particular stage is described (including the products and boundaries of that stage).

In addition, there can be a Team Plan for each team. Each plan must be approved by the project board.

If the project manager updates his plan and notes that the expected delivery date or the expected costs are beyond the prescribed boundaries (stage or project boundaries), the project manager is expected to immediately terminate the current stage and come up with an Exception Plan. If this Exception Plan is approved bij the project board, it can be used as a Stage Plan for the next stage.
